probably when I ran into a guy blowing a terminator bugle every 5 minutes max and told me there were no elk around, at around 12 noon... he was also smoking a cig and drinking a beer, don't know what these guys were doing but needless to say I didn't chat long. I also had t cam pics of a decent bull and there were rubs all over the place.

"If for whatever reason you shoot an animal out of season by accident, the best thing to do is to get out of the area as quickly as possible and never speak of it." So I says to myself, "Self, never hunt with this guy again." And Self did just that.

When we were kids, I told my cousin, who was 2 years older than me, that the moose guts felt neat to walk on...
especially that one over there! Our dads were skinning the bullwinkle at the time, and we all had a good laugh
when he stomped onto the bladder and got moose piss all over his pant legs, lol!

Shoot moose in the hump, it will drop them in their tracks...

Range finders are not needed for archery cause todays bows are so fast shooting..

I can hit the ten ring all day at the archery range, so a shot at a big deer/elk/moose/bear is a slam dunk.

While most of these storie are funny I find this one to be cruel and just mean. Not a good way to get someone new interested in or keep them in the sport.

"If your hunting on your own land, or invited to hunt on private land, which is a farm or a ranch, you don't need a license or tags."

This came from a guy who actually did this! And we were not talking about protecting farm animals from predators, we were talking deer and elk!

Agreed. Newbies usually ache enough if their not used to hiking. If you don't want to take them hunting then don't but why ruin the trip for them.

When hunting bears, don't waste your time going off the road. All the sign will be on the road.

Found out yesterday this isn't always true. Walked 5k+ down the logging roads, saw one track. Hiked down the side of the valley in the bush and found ripped open stumps, turds galore, tracks and ferns with all the fiddleheads snipped off.
