Took a drive to one of my usual areas to sight in with some new ammo and on the drive back I saw 8 whitetail does. Didnt see any bucks but I'm sure they must be in the area. Never seen any whites there before

Any one else finding more whites in areas usually predominantly mules?

Common trend in many parts of the province, they are a very resiliant species........... many bucks are batchelored up this time of year, as for young ones pretty tough to pick out bucks from does with recently dropped antlers.

Exactly..I would think theyve all dropped antlers by now and the bucks should start growin em shortly..and just think folks: any does in the group are hopefully pregnant and will each have two more or so!! As long as predation aint bad there will be lots of deer this year for everyone to put somethin in the freezer..Hopefully

I was south of Kamloops about 30 min. west side of the #5. I'm a new hunter with only two seasons under my belt but I'm looking to get a nice white tail rack on my wall this season!

Depends on what you classify as nice! You might be looking for a few seasons yet

The WT are all around here. They really are. The more people I talk to about hunting in Kamloops, the more whitey holes I hear about. The problem is the big bucks are incredibly smart and cagey. They move at dawn and dusk and are notorious for being nocturnal. Your best chance to get a big one is in the rut when they are walking hard ons and will come in to rattling. If you want to you can get into the thick stuff and hunt them down. I have been VERY close to some nice bucks in the last two seasons, all in really thick bush. Like scary thick. Log jams, swamps and thick brush is where they spend the day. If you are willing to get back in that crap you will see WT for sure. If you can hunt near farmland I think the chances are better for big bucks.

Here are some local WT.
