Hey Folks,

I will be working out a bush camp this summer/fall that does not have great security. Essentially it's a trailer in the woods. Anyways, I intend to bring my gun and optics out with me for summer scouting and hunting in the Fall. I was planning on securing my valuables in my absence with a cable lock, which can go through my trigger guard, and between the barrels of my bino's, but how does a guy lock up a spotter? I can not bring a whole safe out there, and I can not carry my spotter 24-7. I had though about welding a hinged steal ring that would close around the mid-section of the spotter, and be secured with a cable lock. Any other ideas?

I'd also remove the bolt(that is if it's a bolt action) and run the cable through the action instead of the trigger guard. Trigger guard is too easy to remove in most cases

You could bring up a locking contariner, ie tool box.

How about a small pvc or abs tube with caps that you can bury shallow in the ground.

I had a crazy relative who hid stuff this way lol

Lol I still want to use it occassionaly, I don't want to be the guy rushing to find where he burried his spotter when a ram is spotted! BB's toolbox idea is pretty good

disguise it like something that will be overlooked.
Will it fit in a toy from the love shop ?

Couple of trail cams to record anybody who comes into camp might be useful.

Travelers use something like a PacSafe (http://pacsafe.com/pacsafe-85l-backpack-protector) to keep their gear safe.

Make sure you have insurance, keep your expensive items out of sight , and enjoy yourself.

Pick up a knack or greenlee tool box, the kind with the recess padlocks so it can't be easily broken into. Chain the box to your trailer frame through the forklift tubes using 3/8" g70 transport chain. Bonus is you can keep your rifle and other valuables in there. I have seen them from about $200 used.

Buy a spilt ring hanger for plumbing pipes. They are hinged already and you could drill out the side that you screw down to accept a small lock.

Maybe try putting your stuff in a giant ziplock bag, then submerging it in the outhouse. Cover it up with a corn back rattler, and your laughing!
