Hey guys. Is anyone able to comment on this particular spotting scope? Canadian Tire has it for $100. I'm just wondering if anyone has purchased it and has any hunting experience with it. I'm looking to buy one and if it has glass that's at least as good as the Vortex Nomad, I'll purchase it. Thanks for your help.

I know. But that's why I'm asking. Does that mean this product won't let me see the tines on a buck at 500 yards? Or will it?

I can buy a Kia and still drive across Canada. I don't need a Mercedes to do it.

I have experience with this one, best $100 spotting scope you can buy. I have a swarovski now, but have used several of the lower end scopes and the celestron is the one to buy if you are not going to go for the euro glass. We were using it for sheep hunting and the glass was clear. The only real draw back as with any of the lower end scopes is that the field of view is extremly small when you have it zoomed in at max. If I was going with a cheap scope it would be the one I would get. The low end Leupold is a little more but not nearly as good.

Not that's what I was looking for. Thanks very much, Roughneck. I really appreciate it.

I have celestron binoculars and they are great. They were $400 but I have looked thru $1400 binos that werent much better. At least not $1000 better!

i bought the celestron 80 spotting scope from costco. i think it was $179. it is light for an 80. tines on a buck at 500? yes. i can see bullet holes in my target at 200, but barely.

i've since bought a vortex razor spotting scope and will certainly use it as my primary but i will also keep the celestron as my backup.

Celestron is an old company that has made telescopes forever. I remember using them in astronomy classes back in the 1970's . My experience is that they make good quality equipment. I have had a Celestron Ultima 65 for about 15 years. Bright, clear image. I mostly use my scope for archery (about 30-40 yards) and at the 100 yard range at my club but as good as anything else I have seen used at the range. I do use it to check out some of the ships going by here from time to time and can easily read the names on the sides of the vessel.
