Beautiful mature cat! Good Job! He has a nice fat mellon on him, should score up well. 7'6" should stretch out for a rug close to 8'. Are you planning a rug or lifesize?

Well guys heres the story. We saw the track around 8:30 and it was not an easy one to pick as some guys before us had missed it and we almost did as well. He got goin up a side road and we followed the track to where it he had gone off the road. We waited for the other guys in our party to show up and they were there within about half an hour. We had 5 dogs and as we let them go on the track there was confusion right away where the cat had gone down was in a creek bed below the road, and right away the oldest dog stuck his head in the culvert while the others scattered. The cat had pulled a quick one on us and gone over the road and right back through the culvert:lol:. So after we got the hounds organized again it only took em about 20 mins to tree the cat. Now this is only my second time out cat hunting and the first one I Had ever seen tree'd and the guys I was with are very experienced cat hunters. I had originally told the guy that took me out that I wanted at least an average cat, no small ones and a tom if possible. So as we looke at this thing in the tree the concenus from the experienced guys was that it was an average tom, but the way he was sitting up in the tree and the fact that he got up a long ways in the tree made it hard to tell. After about 20 mins of humming and hawing they asked me if I wanted it, I said ya if its an average cat I ll take him. So everyone got their video cameras readyand I made a great first shot, he didn't flale around as he fell out of the tree, it was straigt down and motionless. Right away as he hit the ground there were a couple holy $#!@ 's as we realaized how big this thing really was. So when we took it in to the taxidermist he said it was the biggest he'd seen in 3 years. So as of right now I'm fresh outta college and Not a whole lotta $$ to throw around, so I'm just getting him tanned for now but have intentions of a full body mount some years down the road when the money is there.

heres a picture of him in the tree
