Soooooooooo, a couple weekends ago Peter and I took our lovely boat "Dare II Dream" out for a daily jaunt on the river along with our trusty sturgeon sniffer Master Remington (the chihuahua (or as some of you nasties call him BAIT). We were having a great day being teased by the nibblers, when suddenly Peter's rod went zing zing and he pounced and he set that hook, frantically reeling and reeling and what a monster...biggest fish ever .................................................. ................................................
.................................................. .................................................. ...............................................YA LIKE THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN

anyways........Peter was fiddling with the stereo on board and I was ummmm watching the rods (ya that's it watching the rods) playing a game on my cell phone oops my bad...my rod did the real zing zing zing and went straight out dancing so we hopped to it and gave it a good yank and the fight was on........ I've been scared to actually fight a sturgeon cause I figured them days were over for me but I did it....all by my self I didn't even ask for the belt......(lots to prove to myself) I brought in a 3 footer (not huge by any means to what we are used to hauling) but for me to do alone was a success for me...last season I could barely reel a 1 footer in so I was stoked beyond happy happy happy and hey I beat Peter's fish AGAIN

Great day out for me too. Solo but still fun and relaxing in the sun. 4 to the boat but nothing bigger than a 4ft. First one bent the hook and was gone. My bad for puting the screws to it. A big grey/black seal made friends and stayed close all afternoon.

Congrats on a great day out on the Fraser, Newhunterette!

40 incher - forum rules are designed to keep discussions like the one you've got going here, off of a member's successful hunting or fishing thread. I'm surprised the mods haven't removed the comments that are unrelated to the Op's story. Interesting discussion - but do the right thing and start a new thread! Just sayin..

Nice fish Newhunterette, nice to see you had fun and I am sure you treat the fish with respect. The fishery is catch and release due to the breeding and life cycles of the fish, here is some info for anybody who is interested http://hsbc.frasersturgeon.com/rhspsec/Lesson1/Articles/Article1.pdf (http://hsbc.frasersturgeon.com/rhspsec/Lesson1/Articles/Article1.pdf)

Ok so I cleaned up this thread in hopes it can stay on track. If its legal then it legal no ifs ands or buts.

40incher start your own thread and stop replying to this one.

Jetboater I deleted your post because they also don't belong in this thread although I did find the info interesting. I'm sure it would be a good topic for another thread

Newhunterette looks like you had a great day out there. Been a while since Ive been out. Jealous indeed.

Thank you everyone... Will keep you in the loop of future river trips... Still hoping to be strong enough to bring in a monster dino... Love to jump in the water with one and give it a huge hug ... Gental giants

Today (April 28 ) I am very proud of my man, he is taking out 2 virgin sturgeon fisherman on the boat. I have been blessed with reconnecting with family that I hadn't see or spoken to since the passin of my uncle many years ago. I reconnected with my cousins and their children. My cousin and his sons have been huge fisherman as they charter boats and guided trips every year but the one fishery they had never done is sturgeon. Today that has changed. At 7:30 this morning "Dare II Dream" launched with 2 new passengers and the fun and enjoyment begins. I opted to not go and let the guys have male bonding time. I am going to Fort Langley with my cousin's wife and my daughters to do lady stuff.

I do know as about 2 hours ago they had many chances and so far one landed, quick photo and safely released.

I miss fishing for those ancient beasts. Last one I caught was in 1980. Keep posting pictures Ali. It brings back memory's of when I used to go.
