popped into canuck tire in trail this morning & was shocked to see brand new gun cabinets lining an aisle - not much stock yet but looks like they are getting into rifles & shotties in a substantial way; almost like the old days! couple kids had their noses against the glass looking over the marlin lever actions - nice to see. maybe times are finally achanging....

thats cool I remember as a child flipping through the canadian tire catalog at the guns, I was surprised when they pulled the guns off the shelf, I will have to go in there and check it out when I am in town

I doubt they will get them in any of the stores in Vancouver or the surrounding municipalities.

Google it.
There are stores with guns around. Mostly in areas where there are no other stores.
Just not many.

Heard last winter that they were going to put them back into most stores and increase their hunting supply, looks like its happening all over. Fernie has around two dozen on display.

Really think it will depend on your area and the attitude of the locals. I will be VERY suprised to see any firearms in the lower mainland can tire stores. way too many anti's down here.

I read a couple months back they are bringing the sale of guns back slowly to select stores first

The way that CT is set up leaves the decision whether to stock guns (and many many other items) completely in the hands of the Store Owner. As a franchise, CT will make them available upon request. It then becomes a "business decision" for the individual who owns the store in question.

Will they be selling hunting licences too? Last fall when I was in the Squamish CT store they weren't.

I'll stick with Valley Firearms. They are local people and started from scratch.

I wonder if they will have people who have their licenses to handle the firearms? Get kids on the coast here who have keys to the ammo lockups, pretty sure they don't have their PAL's

I buy my guns and most of my ammo and such at Valley Firearms and Barrens in Kaslo. I use the CT money on my CT MasterCard to get ammo at CT. Won't catch me buying a gun there.

They are bringing them back in the stores in Ontario too, I was told that now that the long gun registry is no longer in effect they are going to bring them back into their stores across Canada.
