Hungry bear

Last night, just after midnight had my first bear visitor of the year. Dumped the garbage can and cleaned up under the bird feeder. I think this is the earliest I've ever seen a bear in this area, still close to a meter of snow in most of the back yard, and over 2 meters in spots. I live in Prince George at the edge of town.

grizzly tracks out this way and a couple of black bear sightings already. The earliest by a couple weeks

I know it is early but curious why do you have a garbage can out where bears can get at it? This is just a death sentence to that bear.

Lived here for 35 years, still up to 6 feet of snow in the yard. I have never had a bear come through the yard this early in the year. Did not expect to see any bears at all around here for at least another month.

Yeah, it is definitely early there from the sounds of it. You still have 6 feet of snow there???
