I just recently got a scanner so I thought I would upload some pics taken back in the 35mm days.
Ok, this deer was taken in 2002, as I recall. I was buying a vehicle from a guy in January of 2003 and when we walked into his shop to grab some parts that went with the vehicle I spotted this rack on the shelf. His kid had shot it. I don't think he told me the score, or if he did I can't remember, but a nice 7x8 mulie. These are the only pictures I have. I do have some old VHS video of it kicking around somewhere though, lol.
The story, from what I recall and how it was told to me, the guy and his two sons were hunting in an area that had seen some logging in the past. They spread out and sweep an area. It was getting dark and the light was getting low. The boy, about 15 or 16 sees a buck standing behind some bushes. All he knows is that it is a buck cause he can see some antler. He takes a shot and drops the buck in his tracks. The dad, not too far away hears the shot, then about a minute later he hears all this hooting and hollaring. The boy had thought he shot a small dear and was blown away by what he found laying on the ground. I believe it was his first buck, or his first buck of any significant size. I know the general area this deer was taken and that other monster bucks have been seen over the years.
So what do you think it scores???
