This much !!
There is enough cape here to do any shoulder or pedistal mount.
Tube out the legs and there is no chance of screwing up the brisket or arm pits.

Hope this helps

While tubing may be ideal, what are your thoughts on a slit up the back side of the leg, to speed things up a little?

If only because daylight and getting back to camp before the end of same are kinda important.....

Great tip Ken. Thanks. Gotta admit, I slit the legs aswell, mostly for time saving.

If you know where to cut the legs it is fine, but most guys manage to screw up the armpits which are the shortest hair
and the hardest area to hide a mistake.
Staying to the outside a bit then angling back works well, just stay away from the brisket and pits.

Makes sense, thanks.

I alway err on the side of caution and take the cape right back to 1/2 of the animal.

I also cut the back of the legs.

Tubing the legs is quick especially when the critter is still warm. They pull down easily. I think it is faster than cutting the backside of the leg.

X2 - Just cut the legs off at the knee and peel away!

Agreed... Pretty cool actually having Ken on here to respond to threads like this one.
