Remember to keep your fingers below the rail when shooting at All Times!!

One of my Buddies forgot this Golden Rule! He got Lucky actually - simply a graze that only removed a little skin and some of the fingernail! Could have been a LOT worse, but I'll just bet it stings a little still today!!

Cheers,
Nog

I too did it with my Exomax last year while aiming a a blacktail. It through the shot off. I ended up with a black thumbnail and lots of pain.

The new Matrix 380 does too. But that is an exception for Excalibur recurves.

This was an Exomax - maximum WHACK!

It is a design FAIL in the Excaliber older bows and I'm surprised they haven't been sued... lots of people with significant damage to thumbs and fingers!

LOL! Only shot he muffed all day! Hit the target block alright. Two feet low and a foot to the left of the aim point. Luckily not a loss!

LOL! Agreed Lorne! Let's see - 225 pound limbs, that string in motion is basically an effective bandsaw. Fingers or thumb in the way? Once is all it takes methinks!

Cheers,
Nog

LOL I had an Excalibur for a few years before getting a compound, and I was always conscious of my fingers with the thought that it would not feel good if I forgot.

Caught my wife just in time when she shot my equinox for the first time. Probably would have tore her pretty little lady finger right off!JP
