Hey there,

I came across these Columbian blacktail deer the other day. The first 3 I saw all looked a little 'off' with their coats. I had my camera with me and got some pics of them. The next one that I saw looked fine, but I wasn't able to get a good picture of it. I looked online and came across an article talking about reasons for deer hair loss (http://wdfw.wa.gov/conservation/health/hair_loss/). So, does anyone have an opinion on what is going on with these blacktails? Hopefully, I can get these pictures to work:

Cheers,
BB

Yup. All the Westside Rd sheep are doing the same rite now. Seen them all yesterday. One nice ram was even using a tree to help rub his winter coat off.

Thanks, all! I feel a little bit sheepish for having asked in the first place. I guess I just haven't seen deer looking like this before. In particular, the first deer in the photos shows a triangle pattern which I assumed came from her reaching around to chew on the hairs she was able to reach.

Cheers,
BB
