Tag question?

How soon after buying a tag can one use it? So let's say I buy a tag today can I go shoot said animal today. For some reason I think there is a waiting period but I could see anything in the regs.

You can only start on the 2nd sunday of the 3rd month from the date you bought your tag. Oh and it doesnt start until late afternoon on that day, just wait and you will see a flare go off then you can hunt. Enjoy!

I believe for some species such as cats and grizzly you have to wait two days after buying a tag before hunting them. Not sure if it's the same with goats and sheep though?

Mostly 2 days after the tag purchase.
Check the regulations Species License Fees section.

out of the 2010-2012 regs page ten under species licence fees says species with an astrix are not valid untill two days after purchase

*cariboo
*cougar
*grizzly bear
*lynx
*mountian goat
*mountain sheep
