Hey Guys, two of my friends got a LEH for Grizz April 1 - June 15 and none of us have ever hunted up there or have any clue where to go. We are potentally heading up April 24th, hoping most of the snow will be gone and bears will be feeding by then.

Anyone who can point us in the right direction or provide any hints that would be greatly appreicated!

You need to be more specific on what area in 5-15. There are several zones within it.

I can also tell you that april will be too early for 5-15, they don't call it the "Quesnel Highlands" in the LEH for nothin' :D Lots of snow.

Some bears may be out, but access will be a problem. What kind of equipment do you have? If I had that draw I would be hunting closer to the end of may.

Congrats on the draw! I put in for 5 years when I lived in Quesnel and never got it.

April 24 is too early I suspect. I'd think late May better for access.

Late May or early June, everyone saying lots of snow on the mountains this past winter.

I have hunted spring bear in 5-15 every year for the last 7 years. I am in the southern end near 100 mile so I hunt 5-15A near Horsefly. It is a complete waste of time until the 2nd week in May. No bears out until at least the 1st week of May. You might see the odd griz in April but I doubt it, and access by sled will be needed.
June is too late as the vegitation is too thick to see angry griz thru.
5-15D is a fairly large area with lots of roads, during May you will see griz on the roads. Good Luck and remember...kill em before ya piss em off...lol
