What do you think about a 3-9x50 scope on a Winchester model 70.
thanks

Not very accomplished with the ergonomics but my 3X9 40mm has done well on my Model 70 extreme weather. I would think a 50mm would do as well or better with the proper rings..

More light is never a bad thing in a scope.

Might have an issue with your sight picture as your cheek will need to be higher due to the higher rings.

Thanks guys and I can't wait to get it out to the range and shoot it and what kind of mounts and rings do you guys recommend I was looking at leupold dual dovetail.

I have them on 2 of my rifles, and don't think I would buy them again. Try looking at Talley 1 piece if they make them for your rifle.

Why don't you like them.

I had to take one of my rifles back to the shop, cause it would not hold its zero. Ended up being the dovetail connection point itself was loose. I don't know if it was to do with the install at the shop originally, or the manufacturing, but it definitely jaded me on them.

There is a B & L 3-9x50 with the pop up reticle on a rifle here. Fine cross hairs and it works well for me. You might think I'm loco, but I bought a Zeiss Conquest to replace it with. Set them up on the counter and look across the river to the hillside. Not enough of a difference to pull the B&L. Sold the Zeiss and kept the B&L. Krazy or what?

I have the exact scope on my tikka 300, it's never failed me.
