550 paracord is pretty neat stuff,it can support an awesome amount of weight for it's small diameter and light weight.
It is made up of seven strands of two strand braid and can be taken down and used as twine seven times it's original length.
In a survival situation it could come in quite handy.
Lots of people make bracelets and lanyards etc.
You can make dog leashes, rifle straps, belts, knife handles, floggers, whatever you can think of.
The idea though is to make things that can be used in an ordinary outdoor activity but can be unwound in a survival or emergency situation.
Here is a bracelet/lanyard I made that uses 25 feet of cord.
I used black and orange and it gives a reverse effect in the weave.

Depending on how long your sling is and how you weave it you can get a couple hundred feet of cord into a sling, could come in pretty handy on a sheep hunt.
Anybody else play with this stuff??
