I have a bushnell elite 20x60x80 spotter (3.3 lbs). What's a decent tripod in the $100 range for a larger spotter like that?

was that replaced by a different model, seems like everywhere I look says it's no longer available?

I have a Manfrotto #058 that will hold your scope.

Possible , why does that happen to good products.
I just looked at the Kerrisdale Camera site , and now not sure what is the equivalent.

The 718 SHB is no longer made as far as I know but there are usually one or two on eBay. I got mine for $99.00 + shipping.

It will hold your spotter but you want to make sure the one you buy (if you buy it) has the metal locking plate and not the plastic piece of sh!t one they sometimes use. If you get the plastic one you'll have to spend $30 or so more bucks for the cast metal one from another dealer. My Zeiss spotter took a spill into the rocks thanks to the plastic locking plate breaking and had to be repaired.

So I'm having trouble tracking down the manfrotto, has anyone used the cheaper Sirui tripods before? They weigh in at 1.8 lbs and are rated for 4.8. Just curious if anyone has used them? (model number T005).

I'm using a Promaster T525P carbon fibre tripod with Magnesium metal parts. i bought it from a vendor of ebay for $199.00 it's around $400.00 bucks retail now but if you can find one for a deal it is a great tripod. One of the legs also turns into a monopod.
