I'm in the market for new hiking/hunting/backpacking boot and was wondering if anybody has any experience with these boots. All of my hunting is in mountainous/hilly terrain, as a family we do a fair amount of hiking, and I manage to get away for a couple of shorter duration backpack hunting trips. In the next 2-3 years I plan on a 10-14 day fly-in trip for sheep and caribou so I'm looking for a tough mountain boot but not so far as technical climbing boot. I think I'm pretty much decided on this boot as I had the opportunity to try on a pair and they feel really good but I was looking for more firsthand experience concerning durability. Thanks in advance for any information.

I bought a pair and used them on a two week fly in backpack hunt. Send me your email and I will show you pics after break in.

I now have a pair of HanWag boots. The Kenesis Pro were ok but I prefer taller boots and more support. The tread design on the Kenesis seemed to offer good traction. They seem to be decent quality but for heavy backpack work I like the traditional tall hunting style boot.

I love mine, I got over 80kms on them this year with weight and probably another 40-50km without weight on my back. The only beef I have is the original laces weren't very good, and that's really the only beef, which was a $3.50 fix a Mark's

I think one of the biggest pro's is the natural roll to the boot, you don't feel like your walking in ski boots. But you do get a very solid feeling of stability from the boot. I took them up on the goat hunt this fall and without crampons on 2" of snow in the edge of the alpine they performed amazing.

My favorite boots, only kind I could squeeze a full year out of. Have a set of those and the leather quality does t seem to be as good as the old model but still working.

Had but returned under warranty. They were a previous model of the same boot with Nubuck leather and GoreTex rather than smooth leather.

Have these now and no looking back, http://www.scarpa.com/scarpa/products/TRAIL/TRAIL-BACKPACKING/p_61001-351 they don't rely on GoreTex for water proofness, they have the thickest HS12 leather... The Goretex in boots lasts at most a year or two with extensive use in dirty conditions as the membrane breaks down.
