Can you score just one shed  Anybody know of how I would go about calculating the score of a single shed  Thanks for any help, good luck out there!

There used to be a record book for sheds, but I think the entries petered out and the club is idle. They used to score the one side with of course no side to side deductions or spread credit. It is scored using the B&C scoring system. You can measure the side you have and double it and for a deer hold the base about 1.5 inches from the wall in a natural looking possision and measure from the wall to the widest inside spread of the main beam then double that. That will give you a rough score without deductions. example if your antler scores 55" + 55" inside spread of half being 1.5 inches from wall is 11" + 11" the shed came off a 132" buck ( max ) this dosn't mean much unless it's a deciding factor on how much time you are going to put into him next year. It is pretty much an educated guess.

If you go to the boone and crockett web site they have scoring calculators that work great. You just have to read the measureing instructions and apply it to one side only.

what i normaly do is take all the circumferance lengths, tine lenths and lenth of the main beam. if i have both antlers i use the lesser main beam leanth as inside spread to give me a rough score. its prety much the same as scoring a rack but the only difference is inside spread. did you find a nice shed to score?

Ya I picked up a nice one today, scored it and came up with around 160 inchs! Im going to score the one I found two years ago, he has to at least have 85 inch's a side :D Thanks for the help

The North American Shed Hunters Club, keeps the official record of all trophy/record book sheds. They use the B&C type scoring and can be either a single shed or pair of sheds. Lots of interesting stuff in their records.

The clean 4 point on the left is my first of this shed season, the bigger one on the right I picked up a few years back :) Edit: The tape measure is at 30inchhttp://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc428/BcDeerHunter/IMG_0243_zpsdff55152.jpg http://i1211.photobucket.com/albums/cc428/BcDeerHunter/IMG_0242_zps9026ad05.jpg

I'll say left = 78-80'', right= 87-90''. Beautiful antlers.
