Just down in Reno and another incredible SCI Convention just wrapped up and I'm waiting for Wild Sheep Show to start on Wednesday. I thought I'd share a few pictures from SCI.......what an unbelievable albeit expensive show.....got a bit carried away with hunting plans for the next few years.....lol

Whats up coming in the next few years of your show then? I like your show. Always informative, and varied species. Much better than some of the other alberta hunting shows.

Thanks Big Boar. We are off to South Africa in May to hunt some of the less traditional species of plains game and Vavessa will be hunting lioness on a traditional tracking on foot hunt. It sounds pretty exciting with typical shots being sub 20 yards at an agitated lioness. I'm pretty well booked for Tur in Azerbaijan for September and if we don't draw any tags south of the border, we'll head to either the NWT for Dall sheep or the Yukon for moose. Hoping to go to England for munjac and Chinese water deer in early 2014 and then Mozambique for buff, hippo and croc in August 2014. With the economy the way it is down here, there sure are some great deals to be had. The bucket list seems to get longer every year.

I'm not a huge fan of how cat mounts usually look but that Leopard looks fantastic

Good luck on the hunts. I enjoy your show too, much more "real hunting" than lots of shows.

I agree. It's one of the nicest moose mounts I've ever seen. Here's another view.

Pretty awesome stuff. We were at a gun show there a couple o months back. If you have any spare time take a side trip to Bodie California well worth the tip(about 2 hrs) but if you do go early it closes at 3pm

One thing I have noticed is that I don't necessarily like watching some of the strange unheard of animals being shot. Things I don't know too much about, at times they almost seem uninteresting to me. Going to Perjikistan to hunt the rareicongo antelope doesn't really peak my interest, because I know that is way out of my league. Probably because I don't know why they are interesting animals, and I don't know cool facts about them. Nor do I know anything about the people of that country, and interesting things about them, including their way of life.

Now I don't know who the majority of a viewing audience is, but I would guess its blue collar guys who get to hunt Canada, US, and maybe africa. Definitely keeping a wide variety of species is great. But its my thought to do more closish to home stuff that people can relate to. Or do more explaining on why this animal (the raricongo) is an interesting animal to pursue.

Great stuff, I have to head south eventually to see a few of these shows. Great mounts, if you have any grizzly pics from the show I'd like to see them.

Best of Luck on your coming hunts!!!!

First year I missed SCI in a long long time. Just didn't work for me this year. The main reason is my huge taxidermy bill(s) coming from the 2011 season... That and then I go see all the gorgeous mounts and I want to go out and hunt some more... it's a vicious cycle!

Sounds like you've got a great year planned. Best of luck on your upcoming hunts. I always look forward to your articles in different magazines I get, they are always well written and informative, usually a great story as well. Unfortunately I've never seen your show, we cancelled cable a few years ago since it seemed like such a waste of time. Keep up the good work.
