Posting this for my father-in-law...................he is looking at investing in a semi auto, and he wanted to year some input about the SX3. Anybody have experience with these shotguns? Any jamming.............etc.

Thanks

Paul

I have had one for a year now and have fed it 2 3/4" trap to 3" steel and not one jam. I clean it often and only oil the guide rails on the bolt slide.

I'm on my 4 season with mine and it has performed flawlessy, I'd highly recommend them. I ordered mine in 3" as I have no use for 3 1/2" and it feeds everything from light loads to the heaviest 3" with no problems. K

Well I ain't scared of giving you my opinion but I'm sure I'll have my detractors. Like I said earlier, I had to order my SX3 in a 3" as I didn't want or need a 3 1/2" gun. The way I see it is if you can't killem with a 3" you sure as hell ain't gonna be much better with a 3 1/2"! Fly atter!!! K

Necessary NO, but nice to have. I would never not buy a gun I liked because it only came in 3" BUT I would also never buy a gun I liked in 3" if 3 1/2 was available because you just never know when and if you may want it, Just because you have 3 1/2 " chambering doesnt mean you have to use it but its pretty hard to use 3 1/2"shells when only chambered for 3". 30 yrs ago no one could have convinced me I would ever want or need more than my 2 3/4" Model 12 but times and regs. change as do the birds we shoot and the land we shoot them on. Dont limit your options. As for the SX3 I am looking at one for a second waterfowl gun and it WILL be 3 1/2".

the browning silver or what ever it,s called this year is exactly the same action,in the event you couldn,t find an sx3....browning bought the sx patent some years ago.they just changed the surrounding look of the gun.....dale

I had the sxp and then moved to the sx3 3 1/2 waterfowl. I like it, no problems at all and i was out alot this season! Just had to clean it a bunch when I got it as it had all the packing gunk on it.

I bought my sx3 after fowl language recommended it. I have shot hundreds of birds for 3 seasons without cleaning it. I have never had a jam!!!!!

Great gun no doubt about it!
