Is reg 8-24 a new draw for this year?? If not has anyone had any success is this region in the past?? How is the population and terrain in this area?

thanx for any info and I wish you all best of luck on this springs draws

It will be high odds, lots of bears, some good ones as well.

Awsome zone to get a good grizz, but damn near a waste of an LEH due to odds......IMO

Compared to the 649. Not the kind of odds a guy who wants to hunt applies for.

IF you get a draw - and you HUNT it Hard you will most likely get a Bear there ! :-D RJ

There is 1 guarantee, if you don't apply you won't get a grizz on there at all! Just sayin!!! Moosin

There's more than enough bears to support a draw.I had a tag 2 years ago and was defeated by the late spring and heavy snow in the high country(I couldn't snow shoe any more). The boar we were targetting didn't start to show on the trailcams until the season had closed.I live in the area and know quite well where to look for bears,I see at least 5-6 every spring while looking at blackies.Unfortunately a good number of them were just outside the LEH border. I have a ATV with snow tracks so I'm hoping this will help me in the long run with the snow factor. I'm just wondering how the terrain is?? Is it glassing chutes and meadows or puttin along the deactivated fsr's??

me and the wife are both putting in for the same draws so I guess that'll help the odds a little 😉

Gunner: do you still have the trail cam pics you could share with us?? And feel free to pm me with any info you feel like sharing.

Does anyone have any success pic or pics at all from this MU?? I'm thinking about loading up my ATV in the future and putting the tracks to the test and taking a look see around sugar lake and the rest of the east side of mable and checking it out.

Was in 8-24 glassing across a valley for blacks a few years ago, when we spotted a sow and cub grizz walking down an old logging road. Well, at least we thought that's what we were looking at initially, until we connected the dots......:-D

Turns out, it was a nearly jet black boar hogging a sow, about 40 yards behind her. Assuming the sow was breeding age, which she obviously was, we figured it was safe to put her at about 6' square, give or take. That fricken boar dwarfed her, and had the obese swagger of a very big bear. Not gonna say it was a book bear, as I really don't know, but it was the kind of bear that you don't second guess on, you just flick the safety and pull the trigger......
