Since we are are in the dog days here on HBC I figured I would post up a pic of a elk and see what kind of score you guys can put to it.

Here is the bull in question. He is still alive to my knowledge but I figure we might as well throw some guesses around.

If people like this one I have another mystery bull that could become contestant #2 but we will see how it goes. Also all dates and times are wrong.

330-335ish. He's symmetrical and his 3rds are not too bad, so that would help the score.

1st number to pop into my head when I looked at the pictures was 290.

I'm thinking close to 315. His mains aren't actually all that short. Looks like he has an extra on his right side in the 2nd picture.

Very nice bull, maybe not still around? Got one last hunting season 6x6 , in Cranbrook area,I think my was even blacker than that one, mine had to be older than the coming of Jesus C and tougher than shoe leather, not a happy camper, but I still go every year for 3, 4 weeks or longer at a time and love it, being doing this for a mega years .Sorry not wanting to throw the thread sideways.

after scoring a few different bulls over the last few years for friends, i'd have to say right in around the 275 to 280ish range, good spread but average tine lengths look around the 10 inch mark, mass is not anything to wright home about, over all length is less then 48 inchs, all in all he is a legal bull and would be dead and in the freezer if he offered me a shot.

I would say 300-310, he is longer on the sixth tines than my bull, and around the same on the other tines, mine went 296 so I am going to go a little bigger.

317 net - still growing though. No arch in his back, no sagging belly and not really heavy bases.

His fronts are short.. Got good tops.. fours are short, not bad mass. He's not that short in the main beam, might look short but that bull has some weight on his body.. Look at his shoulders.
I would guess a 330 bull. No more than 340.

First off, thank-you for sharing.

Secondly, don't mean to offend others but my guess is around the 288" mark. Tines all look on the short side. Not very many BC bulls actually break 300". Score doesn't mean much, it is the experience. Getting a pic is great.

305 to 310 would be my guess. Good whale tail, decent 3rds. Pretty even. Noticeably bigger than the 288 posted by Vader. Similar class as one I got 2010 at 312.

Sorry for my ignorance but... What are these numbers reffering to? Is it the length of the bull? Or the gerth? I'm guessing not as 300" would be 25 feet. Just a new hunter looking for info

itsy bitsy , just width and lenght of tines all count on total mass of antler and diameter, there is a formula to follow for scoring. Just saying, hope it helps.:)

Well not exactly. Partly the width, partly the circumferences partly the length of every piece of bone.

As far as I know he is still roaming the hills.
