Hello guys and gals,
I'm in the middle of building a new and and would like to build a walk in cooler. I have been using my grandfathers walk in for years now and it's just getting g to old and unreliable. Does anyone out there have any ideas? I have room for a 6'x10' cooler. I've read the walk unit AC ideas but I was looking for something a bit more reliable and more functional. So in a nut shell I'm looking for ideas on cooling, insulating and construction. Ill be doing most of it myself so through all ideas at me and pics if you have any. Any help is better than what I have right now. Cheers

There is another thread on this topic running. Do a search for it, easy to find here. PS the cooler above if it runs as good as it looks is a great deal.

Don't know if you have seen this: http://www.storeitcold.com

There are testimonials from users, including hunters, on their website.

That's awsome guys ill do a bit more research on the links above and see what I can find. Anyone out there that has any input on chillers or cooling units if I wanted to build my own cool rather thn buying a assembled unit?

That one in the link from 'lionhill' with all the refrigeration equipment is cheap...i had a walk in freezer built in my home, closer to 10k for the similar size.

would be fairly simple to dismantle and re-assemble.

We built a walkin cooler 8x10 complete with 10x10 cutting room. Splurged for a standard compressor unit and glad we did. Have run just about three hundred critters through it and it hasn't missed a beat. Cools down quickly and stays that way. One thing I would add is a floor drain makes cleaning up easier.

Forsure the drain is a must. Our right now does not have a drain and I wish it did. I've out a call in the add on the net hopefully hear back before it sells
