Thought we'd give it another try this morning as there have been a few birds around my field over the past couple of days. Lots of high flyers and some large flocks in the early afternoon but nothing committing to the dekes or even responding to our calls. Changed things up a bit by removing most of the decoys leaving only 4 beside the frozen puddle this morning. Just turned on the roby duck and was walking back to the blind this morning when the first flock arrived 20 seconds later. Widgeons..about twenty flying right over our heads as we scrambled to get some shells in the guns. By the time we were loaded, they had already hit the deck just outside the spread. We don't like shooting birds on the ground, so decided to wait for some flyers. Not a minute later another group of 10 circled the blind, we were ready this time and put 3 down. And then it was over...waited another hour and didn't see another bird, well, thats field hunting!

nice job,

I had thea same problem last weekend "in a marsh" and a small move and reposition of some decoys seemed to be the ticket. Man this duck hunting is a blast
