I'm looking for a good quality rangefinder in a decent price range. I have looked through a bunch of posts and it seems that everyone is set on the Leica rangefinders. My price range is around $300. Keep in mind that I'm new to hunting so I won't be shooting deer at 1000 yards. What do you guys think of the Leupold RX 600i TBR ?

I use a bushnell scout 1000. Great no problems for what i use. I only use it wen i bow hunt. It wont range past 500 yards. If i were to buy one for long range only it would be leupold rx1000 or the leica. But bushnell bow mode is the nicest for bow hunting

In a ranger, a little more is never a bad idea, even if you never shoot that far, as it'll buy you a bit of insurance on less reflective targets. The Leup and Vortex 1000 yard models both interest me for the price/warranty, though Leica will likely get my money when I upgrade.

More than 300, but my Leica 1200 is a pretty a decent rangefinder. No ARC though.

I find I don't use it as much as I thought I would, and usually only range-find after the smoke has cleared so I can be specific in my story telling.

Nice & small & light, 6x lens, quick to ID targets.

Get one with the angle compensation built in. This is BC and there are plenty of hills. Leupold gets my vote for price and reliability.

Like BB said. Get one with an angle compensator. Even though your shots wont be that far, angles can change things in a hurry

Thanks for all the good info. After reading a number of posts and searching the internet, I'm deciding between Leupold RX1000i and the Vortex Ranger 1000. Both have similar features including the angle compensation and both are withing the same price range around $400. The Vortex has a really good warranty but in the end I might go with the Leupold. Anyone had any experience with either one?
