im looking into buying a spotting scope. i want it for the range and field. to buy a good one i must sell one of my guns that i barely use(sako L61R .338 win mag) what scope would you buy.
does anyone have the compact goldring leupold scope. there not too much. i was reading the reviews on cabelas and bass pro and most scopes $1000 and hunder are the shits after 40x power. only the higherend scopes are clear past that. what spotting scopes do u like

Ive owned a GR Leupold 12-40x, was a good scope for sure. Sold it and went with a Vortex Viper 15-45x65 and am very happy, especially considering it's half the price. I'll likely be upgrading to a Vortex Razor HD 16-48x65mm later this summer

I have the Leupold gold ring HD 12-40x60 spotter and it is the shits out past about 30x. Gets real dark real quick. But it is cheaper and lighter compared to some of the fancier scopes, so there is that.
