Ventured out to my field of dreams this morning with hopes of getting a few more geese & ducks. Very few mallards at first light, couple of hens landed in the spread but we chose not to take them with hopes they might bring a larger flock in. But, no luck with them...then came the widgeons, flocks of 20 - 30 birds coming in at a time for about 20 minutes. Managed to take 3 of them. The geese started like clockwork at 9am, but hundreds were landing in the field across the road in the "no hunt zone" But patience paid off as we waited over an hour for something to fly our way. they eventually did and we were rewarded with 3 honkers for our patience. All in all, not a bad morning!

Thanks, they are pretty tough to hit though, but when they commit, they drop like stones!

Widgeon are tasty too - just finished a couple for dinner.

Three honkers - I'm jealous! Seems like a nice setup you've got going there.

it was a good morning bro, thanks for taking me out with you :) I can't figure out if the Widgeons are REALLY fast, or if we are getting old and slow, lol
