Yeah I have one languishing in the back yard as well. I have not used mine since the watercraft licensing system came into effect. I guess I should finally get the license this year and fix up the boat. I don't like the way the seats are in mine, as they are quite flimsy. I like the walkthrough layout for the seat like some of the Lund boats have.

Nice custom boat JboatJim.....what do you have planned for anchoring system?
I really like the loch-style anchor pulleys for a fast letdown.

I picked up a big canvas beach umbrella this summer for $25 at shoppers and mounted it in a pvc pipe attached to the center console of my little whaler. Looks slightly fruity, but works really well for sun and rain. Just having one post for your lid gives you way more workable room than a traditional bimini on a small boat. I can stand and cast normally from pretty much anywhere in the boat even with the umbrella up. And when I don't bring it I've got one more rod holder. Something to consider

I have a 12' Harbor craft 7.5 Merc and 2HP electric.I still want to put seats in it just haven't picked what brand/type.I would prefer seats i can unclamp. Also rod holders and a fish finder and a better anchor setup on the Stern/Bow. I have two nice anchors just want better rope maybe 24" stainless chain between anchor and rope. Also need a small boat trailer cause its a bitch loading in the truck box.Spring project cause I have way too many projects on the go right now.

I like that idea with the flat bottom boat. Should of done that with ours and not sold it. I would not do that with a smaller size flat bottom boat. To tippy.

I built myself a boat last winter:

http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q649/Beasterfish/photo3_zps3a3e0f89.jpg (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Beasterfish/media/photo3_zps3a3e0f89.jpg.html)
Here is a Pic of the first test in the water before I had finished outfitting it. http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q649/Beasterfish/IMG_0390_zps9d622224.jpg (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Beasterfish/media/IMG_0390_zps9d622224.jpg.html)
One of my favourite features is the front storage space:http://i1352.photobucket.com/albums/q649/Beasterfish/IMG_0378_zps54be1bd1.jpg (http://s1352.photobucket.com/user/Beasterfish/media/IMG_0378_zps54be1bd1.jpg.html)
I laid plywood down on the floor covered with outdoor carpet which is really nice when you've got flyline all over the place. As well it makes everything a lot quieter in the boat. You can't have to many rod holders in the boat, I've got 4 plus 2 anchor mounts. The only thing I'm still working on is some way to get the oars out of the way when I'm on the water. Unfortunately I have no good pics of the inside after I finished putting everything in it. That will have to wait till next spring.

Good looking boat. That looks like the one my dad built many years ago. Where did you get the plans?

Here's my trout boat. No laughing though. Her names is Patches. I have had her for 6 years, she has seen hundreds of voyages and hundreds more fish, thousands of hours on the water, sailing dozens of sea lakes. She'll go out in conditions 14 foot aluminums are frightened to, from catching cutthroats in the high seas of Harrison to playing rainbows in Tunkwa and slaying Kokanee in Lac la Hache. From the lower mainland lakes to the windy interior.... Hicks, Deer Lake, Moss, Rolley, Trout Lake, Jones, Silver, Ross, Gwen, Helena, Greeny, Knouff... the list goes on and on... and ... on.

Boat + paddles + life jackets + motor mount + 12v pump + hand pump take up half a rough neck rubbermaid... not even significant real-estate for a 2 door wrangler. 50amp hour deep cycle will last all day, battling wind and pushing the 30lb thrust to the max, reaching whopping speeds of 7km/hour. Yarrrr she's a beauty. Leave the battery/motor gear behind and you can carry her a long long way through the bush to lakes with no road access. She is rated for carrying 700lbs, can cram in 3 adults or two can ride the water bed comfortably. She's been dragged along rocks, run up on logs, plowed through weeds... tough PVC for sure. Patched only twice... once from rogue pair of pliers which were sat in her first year, then a pin-hole hook wound recently. Yarrr matey, this is my trout boat!
