Holy SHIT.... Bout all I can get out right now. Just jumped out if an R44 heli with a loaded AR15 , 30 round clips.. Emptied a couple now , bucket full to go!
Crazy insane fun, you see everything on the ground, deer , big bucks, crazy.Bunch of hogs down, ammo is screwing up so were on the ground momentarily, LOTS of footage, 4 go pros, two video cams ... Some of you are gonna want to see this !!

We were raining down lead from maybe 40 yrds to 10 feet under the heli . We chased 3 BIG ones through the mesquite ,they split . We shot the big black one and the others were big ones with white and black . The other heli was over a white one and asking if we shoot it cause " it's dead as a rock", but neither of us shor a white one and radios that back.The other pilot was still saying " nope dead as shit".
I yelled in my head set " HES FAKING IT HE'S FAKING IT" ( as they hovered over it maybe 20 yrds), so they send a round down , GAME ON! Swine bolting !!! I pulled the big cam up and got the full shot of shooter and heli and hog.
You gotta try this period !!!

Basically a grand an hr each , we did two hrs each , 6 guys , 3 in the air at a time. Sounds a bit pricey , but if you look at it like chewin off a slice of life and experienceing something new it doesnt matter....we'r gonna be dead too quick , gotta try EVERYTHING !

Not me last night.I picked up an effing flue bug while traveling, hit the sack. The gang went out though and tried the new thermals , didn't see anything .Guess after shooting close to 100 pigs in a day didn't help.
We'll be night shooting hogs back in Alabama as per the norm.

I have been flying in helis for almost 30 years (a lot of hours every year) and any R machine is not known for its air worthiness....

Put me in a Bell 206 or a Hughes 500 and I am good to go from sunrise to sunset... And I have, numerous times... But the Robinsons scare the shit out of me...

I believe one of the difficulties in using Feral Pig meat for foodbanks is the possibility of trichinosis infected animals. Inspection and liability issues....

Hey Moose , do a little 'research' . I found another outfit in Texas wich gives 4 hrs and is about 25% cheaper than the guys we went with. BUT , will have to find out if the pilots are 'cowboys' or not. The video of the cheaper outfit looks 'possibly' a little 'less action flying'. Our guys were all over the place , from 5 ft off the backs of the hogs to chasing them down and spinning backwards as we passed them. The other outfitts video looked more like a possible 'greyhound bus tour' driving from a 'ways' off the ground...yaaawn.
I'm going to try and wrangel up a canadian posse to go hit it again next winter !

I couldn't take it anymore. Heli hog'n has been on my mind since your post. So I just booked a Texas trip for my daughter and I for this June/July. The R-44s were already booked so we will have to take turns in the two seater. Still really excited to experience this adventure. We also booked a alligator gar fishing trip. I am also looking into a catfish noodling tour as well. This will fill the gap between shed hunting and sheep hunting nicely.

Goods news ! I'll put you on 'The List'.

Side note , sometimes the guys fly private property where only shotguns are allowed.DONT do it. AR's are the ONLY way to go. 30 rounds clips as opposed to re loading EVERY 6 seconds with a shotty doesnt even compare !

The outfitter were going with offers the use of AR 10's or AR 15's with unlimited ammo built into the price. The fact that they are booked solid 6 months in advance seems like a good sign. I have spoke with them on the phone and they said they will meet us in San Antonio and we can follow them to the ranch we will be using.
