We had a good day. He also took home a couple of Blue bills,Golden eyes and this canvas back. All for mount consideration. We got a drake bufflehead that he was going to consider for the collection but he was not the greatest in shape.

Nice bird wall hanger, no perhaps about it. I've got a few Cans back in the day before I could afford a taxi now I a nice Can is at the top of my hit list.

Birds decoy into that hat so well. I guess they think its a nest or something. I mean look at that smile also.

BTW Johnny, I found out the official name of the blue bill is a scaup. Lesser or greater is the next question. Maybe someone can tell us looking at that wing.

Used to be quite a healthy population of canvas backs on the Harrison, especially between the bridges and around the log dump.

The last few years we have seen a half dozen or so canvasbacks in one location near Agassiz, but only the last week or so of the season.
