 Saw someone talking about harvesting an immature doe over CGN. I guess a button buck is an immature buck, but how can I tell if a doe is immature?

She'll still have spots??? Actually I think they must have messed up, it's either antlered or antler less as far as deer go!!

I'd guess it was the smaller of a couple of does togther maybe? Or she still had spots... not really an issue though, like Steelco said, it either has antlers or it doesn't.

Just read this, Steelco beat me to it. I guess if you could notice a difference between body size and no horns, but I've never heard of anyone use the phrase immature doe.

I guess a button buck is an immature buck

Take one with no buttons I guess.

I have never heard of an immature doe. But my definition would be a female deer that tries to be a companion for Rudolph before her time! Ha ha! Merry X-mas

I think it may have to do with : a doe , last years fawn , this years fawn. During doe season if you have a draw and see a doe with a small fawn with a stubby nose you know it is this years fawn and won't make it through the winter if you take the big doe, however if you see a doe with what looks like a small doe and you have a tag I would say take the big doe because the other one is probably last years fawn. My 2 cents Mike

Small in size and after you shoot it and go over and start to clean the animal ,thats when you no it is a immature doe. hunter 1947.
