A city feller from Springfield, Missourri went squirrel hunting in the Ozarks one day.

Following a game trail up the hill he encountered an old hillbilly coming down, just staggering under a sack load of squirrels. They exchanged pleasantries and carried on their ways.

After walking a 100 or so yards, the city feller recalled the hillbilly hadn't been packing a shootin' iron.

He turned and ran back to catch up with the hillbilly. The old man stopped when he came close.

"Excuse me," the city feller said, " it just dawned on me that you didn't have a gun with you. How did you get all those squirrels?"

The ol' hillbilly began, " Aw, it ain't too diffcult to explain, Ah just finds me a squirrel, sneak up real close, and when he's lookin' squar at me Ah pokes muh haid out'n uglies 'em ta death."

"Unbelievable!" Does it work every time?" city feller asked.

"Does fer me, ya'll noticed Ah ain't the best lookin' feller ya evr run acrost."

"Tell me, do you always hunt alone?"

"Yep, Ah do now......... Use ta bring th' ol' woman along but she tore 'em up too bad."
