So I want to get out for some predator hunting over the next few months (assuming the world doesn't come to an end)..
Any thoughts/suggestions on good areas within a few hours of the Fraser Valley? Merrit/Connector area?
Not sure what the Wolf population is like but I'm sure there are plenty of 'yotes around.

Thanks!

Go hang where the farmers are and talk.
I've found them pretty cool about whacking yote's in the backyard.

Is a 30-06 with a light bullet still too much gun for 'yotes or should I look at something like a .243?

Reading my mind there. I was going to take a few trips up around there this weekend or next and see if I could get some info from farmers...

This one is off limits. I've known her for a few years now. I'm the only one around who she come close to. I don't feed her (never). I talk to her and just stares. I think one day at work I was whacking some tall grass down and she was having a feeding frenzy on mice.http://i949.photobucket.com/albums/ad339/ronb_2010/B943E939-F10E-4940-8831-4AB8EE277E9A-2275-000002B605BCAB25.jpg

if u want to keep the fur something smaller like the 223 but if u dont care about the fur 30-06 is great

I think I have a new idea for my Webpage :D

Call these guys, ask if anyone in the area you want to hunt would be willing to have a 'Yote/Wolf whacker on their land. Promise to close all gates, don't shoot towards buildings, etc, and see what they say.

http://www.cattlemen.bc.ca/contacts.htm

Alternately, find some open land with a good view, and use a distress call.

I had the same thought. Swan-e-set. There some decent bucks around there too.

Predator hunting is new to me, so i will be picking up a couple of calls in the next bit and try them out.

Calling the Cattlemen's Assoc'n is a pretty damn good idea! :)

I'm going to try setting up a "Matchmaker" area on the webpage, where we match respectful hunters with willing ranchers that need predator or ungulate reduction.
Waiting for a response from the BCCA.

No Sarg it's Tsawwassen Springs by the ferry. It's just her and she has one young one with her. Her hubby got smacked by a car about a 1 1/2 years ago.She won't leave the area. Her den is in the reserve and she hunts mice and ducks on the golf course.
