Just heard someone was attacked by a cougar while walking down a road in Squamish tonight around 10:30. Starting to wonder about having the kids in the bush around here, seems to be more and more cats around. I can't wait to bag one!

Your suggestion is ridiculous. Less wild canines would = more food for wild felines., which would= less need to attack joggers.

Hope theyre ok. My buddy had a young one chase him to within 6' this summer in port alberni when he was jogging up a back trail to his inlaws house. He heard footsteps behind him and turned around expecting to see his dog trying to catch up to him but it was a young cat! So he figured he better charge it before it tried to attack him and scared it off. Scary stuff!

Your kids are pobably safer in the woods. Why? Because when there in the woods normally the parents are watching them closely. Where as alot of parents leave them unattended in a backyard. Cougars are constantly seen in Brakendale. The CO's weren't able to catch the last one that was killing pets and they even used hounds. Lots of sightings along the mamquam as well as Valleycliffe.
