I would not get one.
It would take the fun and challenge out of shooting for me.

I agree with you. Likely to start something pro and con. At what point do we no longer consider "fair chase" ? Are we getting to the point with our technology that we will be able to spot and shoot without ever leaving camp? One thing for sure is certain less than lawful groups will love it:cry:

Talk about ' reach out and touch some one ' -

Personally, not for me - SWAT / Army Sniper, yes, but to make it element of fair chase for the game, not for me.

It takes the art out shooting but the technology is amassing.

Sounds and looks pretty impressive alright, but how does it calculate for windage and/or bullets loaded with powders from different production dates?

Says precision ammunition so I would suppose that the components would all be measured and tolerances the same. Program the MV and ballistic coeffient and the rest of the info and the end result is a 1300 yard killing stick.

I would definately not use one for hunting.. Getting to the age where I would need some young backs and legs to "go get 'er" while I have a beer. And besides, not very sporting.

Much ado about nothing. Hunters aren't going to use this. It's too expensive and too bulky.

Great for target shooting, bulky and way over the top for hunting...what's next, little guided missiles? :-D
Heat seeking ones that find the target, send you a pic to your laptop in your truck, you see that it's
a five point buck and send your "ok", and the missile beams it's gps coordinates to your laptop just
before it goes in and kills the buck. Then you follow your gps to the carcass. Who wants one? ;-)

Already been done...

I'll take one for my 30-30. Those 15 to 60 yard blacktail shots will be so much easier.

Uses laser range finder right? I bet it doesn't range fur well enough
get a good solution at that range. Does it fire the rifle electrically?
Tech like that has many points of failure or poor function. How precise?
That shot can be made with gear now; if the animals
stay still that long.

Point in this is it does it all. You dont have a wind meter or guess how far the grass is bent over to indicate wind speed. You dont need to pack the ballisitcs chart around, it's in the scope. In long distance shooting there are very many variables. We have devised equipment for it all. This scope just consildates it into a rather bulky package, but none the less, all in one.

Only thing I can't see on it is a roll of toilet paper..

If it had a roll of TP on it, then it would be of more use to hunters. ;)

What reads the wind???? Dialing a turret is no different then that system , excpect for some math and a ppc with bc calculator.. The wind is the KILLER at lond distance..

Dunno. Don't/won't ever own one. Guess we'll have to wait for someone with money to spare to do a review.. and post the results.
Been hunting with the same rifle/scope combination since 1981. See no reason to change up now. I could never afford the latest and greatest due to raising two kids on one income. One thing it taught me was I could do without a lot of the new gizmos. This is just one of those "gizmos". Just found it an interesting read.
