Field Marshal and I headed out for a quick hunt today. It turned out to be one of those good days where everything works, set up well befor shooting light, birds working well into the decoys, good work by the dogs, and some nice shooting. Both of us conected on a few doubles, and Feild Marshal even took two with one shot.... pretty nice shooting if I do say so. We ended with 16 nice fat Mallards and proof that #4's can kill ducks !

Nice work! Good to see that number 4's do actually work. I was starting to think that The ducks I shoot were all thin skinned.

Nice band. I'd buy a pretty short call lanyard to put it on so you might fill it up in a lifetime.

Nice shoot guys! Congrats on the bling drake.

Field Marshall, what kind of 20g are you using? My 12 HATES Blackcloud, jams every single shell. Don't have that with WinX or Fed.

I love those shells as well, I am still using up some winchesters that I got a couple of seasons back at a good price, but as soon as they are gone I will be back to the Sportsmans.

Nice setup, are they good eatin birds?

field marshal
12-07-2012, 12:28 PM
First of all to answer Tanya! I've got an older Rem.1100 autoloader 20ga. It also likes Win.#4 steel 1oz. loads as well as the new Black Cloud close
range 1oz loads. They have to be 1oz. loads or it won't cycle properly! Also you have to keep the gun squeaky clean for reliable functioning.
As far as table fare goes, the only finer eating birds would be Prairie ducks!---Cheers---Field Marshal.

Hey Lorne, my 4 yr old daughter was wondering if she could head up and throw some bread crumbs for you so you can really get in on those park ducks you guys shoot. She also has a large bag of popcorn to help with your deer hunting. You choose, just let us know and she can help.....
