Well since Firebird  said that you dont need a FoxPro to call the yotes in, I decided to try my jackrabbit call. But for how long do you have to keep calling before you want to take a break? I'm also wondering how far a yote can pick up the sound from?

Check out this website, it has great information on hunting coyotes, I spent about 2hrs on it last night reading.

Yes, that is Firebirds site. It's a good site, too. Well done, Firebird!

blow for 30 seconds to one minute'ish, then sit and watch for 3-5 minutes. repeat for up to 45 minutes. coyotes can probably hear you in calm conditions up to 1 mile away if its open country. in heavy woods and wind, probably a few hundred yards

Cool, I'm gonna give it a try! But how do you cover your scent if you sit in open? How about some deer scent?

You can't cover your scent from a Dog...or so it would seem to me

if you can set up so your downwind side is a big open area that you can see, thats the best bet, as they will circle in downwind more often than not, and if you can force them to show themselves, well that is good for you - bad for them

I've missed one with my bow before (35 yds), but they usually check out by the time you see them (if you're not really looking for them). Or you don't have your bow along...:) http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/Summer_149_1_5_1.jpg (http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=3844&size=big&cat=500&ppuser=2303)
