I shot a old dry doe this oct that looked much that same. Fat on fat on fat. It was everywhere. Healthy deer. She has been some of the best eating deer I have had in a long while. I am sure that bugger will taste good as well.

Wayne that deer reminds me of a flat top I shot a few yrs back near Vernon, loaded with fat. Mind you she was only about a half a mile from a humungous alphalpha field so...;-) Talk about tender and tastey mmmmm. mm

All my bucks looked like that this year, the rut is consistantly later than past years most everywhere in my opinion.

LOL. Um guys, if that deer had been hanging since Sept 3 it would be a pile of black and blue muck! Wayne either froze it in halves or its an old pic.

I agree with you big man the rut is changing with the seasons weather getting latter ,,,I saw two WT fawns with there mother eary this month of Nov with spots still on there backs and they might only weigh 30 pounds this tells me that the doe was in estrus in Feb of this year...

In all my years of hunting, never have I ever seen such a huge mass of fat. It almost seems that the deer stayed in its bed and just ate, lol.

I got a nice mature 4x4 on Nov.11 and he was like that.Plus he had about 10 pounds of leaf fat inside him.Neck all swollen up,just getting ready to burn it all off.Eat,sleep shite. That`s all they do until Nov.

Thats a fattie all right. Mature bucks early in the season are the best. Some good eats there Wayne.

All 3 deer I have had hanging this year have had above average fat. I'm thinking mother nature has something nasty in store h for us this winter.
