Went out with my Dad today and we tracked down this 4x5 Muley. With the season winding down it was a great way to cap it off. Thanks Dad for a great hunt.

Congrates, Nice buck! What's the stats on the rifle in the pic.? A short story on the hunt would be nice too.

Short story is that we hiked over multiple ridges and scaled a small mountain. Then on the way back to the truck my Dad wanted to show me where he short his buck 2 days earlier. An area we stayed away from because there was a fresh gutpile and figured there would be too much coyote and wolf activity in that area. Then we noticed a fresh buck track on top of where he drug his out. Followed the tracks not 5 mins and came over a hill to find him in a patch of poplars. One well placed shot from my Tikka .270 with a 150 grain bullet was all it took. Then the work began!

Hey man, congrats on the buck, I've got 2 days off to try seal the deal. still hunting the same area where you walked into me last year, its really starting to heat up now! where abouts did you get this guy? im not lookin particulars just rough areas, which side of the valley?

Houston. Way more bucks out that way! I was hunting that area earlier in the year but not much sign there. Would be nice if our season went into December. Big bucks area really starting to move now! Good luck.

Its nice to be able to hunt with your dad lots of nice memories ,,I like the dark antlers must be a timber buck ,,congrats to your dad and you on getting this very nice mule deer..

This is the first buck I've taken with antlers this dark. First time hunting that area. Hope all the bucks have a dark rack like this one!
