So I went up around the Quesnel area with my dad for our anual hunt and stayed with family friends on the west fraser during any buck for the last week of October. We were way too picky and saw several bucks the first day but passed on them as they were little 2 and 3 pointers. unfortunately we didn't see another buck that would give us a shot for the entire rest of the week. We went home empty handed. I was pretty bummed about that and had given up on the season.
My dad called me on tuesday and said he was headed back up on Friday with a buddy and asked if I wanted to come along... I said I would get back to him in an hour. So I juggled a few things around at work, switched a few shifts and it was on! I installed a subfloor for my wife at our dance studio all day on thursday night until 3am so that I could go, went home showered and slept for an hour and a half... Up at 5am packed and arived at my parents house at 6:30. Had coffee and breakfast, loaded the truck and left Langley at 8:30. Stopped in 100 mile for lunch, then in Williams Lake for fuel... we arrived at our friends at 3:30pm... just in time for a quick afternoon hunt... saw a few does. Have dinner and a few drinks, we all decide to put $20 in the pot for biggest deer of the weekend.
First morning hunt: The property is about 4000 acres so there is room for everyone to go a different direction. My dad and I stick together and drive to the south end of the property... see a few does but no bucks. We hear a shot so we call our friend and sure enough he has the first buck down. He tells us where he is and to come give him a hand. When we get there and see this thing......... well there goes the pot lol. This thing is a massive 4x4 with 5" brow tines. I get sent back to the house to get the camera and some gear so I drive back grab camera and a few other things and tear back out to them... about half way there I spot a doe crossing a cut so i stop, get out binos up... another deer walks out.... 1...2...3...4 good enough for me... rifles not even loaded... chamber a round, line him up... neck shot? nope shaking lol, lungs/heart are good enough for me... boom... Deer number 2 down, couldn't be happier. Didn't take too many pictures as we were all a bit too excited. But don't worry I got a few :) I saw one more 4 point but I had already got mine and I'm only allowed one :( lol.

And the 11th wolf killed on his property this year. This one, he snared in feb. but it chewed through the snare... How do we know? It still had the snare around it's neck, he got it this time around the belly.
