Thinking about picking up a kit for my vx3. Are they worth the money

They are very slick, but they are also pretty expensive. I screw them in to the desired position, then electric tape them to hold them securely. I tape Butler creek scope covers, too.

I think they work better than the Butler creek scope covers, but not sure if they work 4X the price better. :)

Have them on 3 scopes and love them wife has them on 2 and loves them. My hunting partner borrowed one of my rifles with them he liked them so much he sold his scope and bought a leupold just so he could have them.
In short they rock.

I like mine as well, they work as advertised and look alot better than the plastic Butler Creek type.

I LOVE them, have on all my Loopy scopes and wish other manufactures would adopt the system eg Vortex, and Quigley-Ford.

I've gone thru at least a dozen sets of butler creek covers over the years on just one rifle. They're complete junk....but that's all that is out there. The leupold covers won't fit on my old VariXII or I would have bought them long ago....could have bought 2 sets and still come out ahead of the game.
I've glued and taped the butler creeks onto my scope but between losing pins and snapping caps and losing them (before I taped them on), I've pretty much done everything to them.

Buy the leupies.

I tape the Butler Creeks on and then I smear a bit of vaseline around the lid edge where it closes, to help it keep out water.

the only problem i've had with the butler creek caps, is i always lose the rear one.
when my gun is hanging over my shoulder, i must rub or bump it and it comes off.
the front one is tight as can be and works awesome.
i've went the last two years without replacing the rear, i'll have to remember that for next year.

so what makes these other ones that much better?
for quadruple the price?

Should try some teflon tape on the threads, or a touch of nail polish on the threads,,

They're great . . . but they draw more blood than the Butlers when they connect with the nose/forehead!

haha thats what i thought so i never put on the cap I look through. I just have it on the 40 mil end so when it's on my shoulder the glass stays dry. I love the luepold covers.

I use loctite on the threads, but I want them to stop screwing in where I want them, not where they bottom out. So the tape is an extra precaution to keep them in place.

My butler creek ones lasted about 1 1/2 hunts before the broke. My Leupold ones are awesome. I've had them 2 years now and highly recommend them.

Thier is kneuraled fitting on the scope caps that you set when the scope cap is in the right postion set your scope cap to the 11:00 postion the screw in the kneuraled fitting in and turn the scope cap in till is in the 12:00 and tight and you will have no need for the tape or the nail polish or lock tight I have them on my 7mm mag and my 308. They work geat but suck a$$ on the left handed guns the little realease button will rip your thumb of if you do not turn them sideways so they open on the 3:00 postion and the release button is in the 9:00 postion. Hope this helps.

Well, I broke the release button on mine the other day. Don't even know what happened. Went to flip up the cover but the button was gone. :)

Is there a lifetime warranty on them? i could see that being worth the money right there!
