Has anyone used Watco oil, or linseed oil on their mounts to bring back colour and shine? or just to bring them back to the original look?

Before I send a mount out I rub a mixture of half linseed oil and half paint thinner. I tell my customers to apply it once a year.

Be very careful where you dispose of any rags with linseed oil on them. Please read the label. Can ignite and start a fire.

Per boiled linseed oil. Hard to believe but this happened to me. Lucky they were in a trash can outside ...

X2 on lemon oil Bud. I use it once or twice a year. It stops them from getting dry and brittle and brightens them up a little for a while.

Ya good call Speyman, I have seen it happen to my neighbor while doing a deck. We smelled smoke and the frigin Rag ignited dam good thing we did not go around front for a beer could have burnt down the house. I was shocked naturally we read the warning after no exaggeration there. The teacher in Grade 8 shop was not full of shite after all :)

I never use oil on any of my antlers I find out that it is a dust collector ,,I just use warm water on a cloth to clean the antlers..
