Tagged out today!

Had the day off, and decided to go out with the .243. I hit the spur road where i hunted all season long...The same area where my trail cam was stolen...

I parked my truck about 1km up the road, and walked(slid) in...The road was like a clean sheet of ice. I was getting close to the spot I like to hunt.

I decided to stop and let out 3 estrus doe bleats, when not even a minute later 2 does come ripping out of the bush and slide sideways across the road..confirmed does with my binos. So i turned my head, and all I could hear is something running up the road. I turn my head backtoward the does, the pair are b-lining straight for me. About a minute later a buck runs out, and with nose to the ground he's running for the does, which are running towards me!

With no hesitation, i put the cross hairs on his chest, and squeeze the trigger...And the rest is history.

So now a short tracking and I have a young 5x5 on the ground..sorry no field pics.

They count on Whitetails. Not Mule deer or blacktails.

I got out to the spot where I park around 8:00 am, and the buck was on the ground just before 8:30.

I'm pretty happy with him, as I've been after him for the past 2 months or so. He's my biggest Whitetail so far...
