Well, life got in teh way of hunting this year... Got out with my bro for the first week and shot a 7x7 bull, but it all came to a halt when the wife got pregnant (it was a long hunt http://huntshoot.coastangler.com/hunting/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif )... Didn't make it into my muley spot and only got out once for whiteys.

Long story short... Last day of the whitey rifle season and hiked into my spot in teh dark, just in time to realize I forgot my trigger lock keys (IDIOT!)... oh well, I'll just take in the sights and enjoy the last day (prob. won't see sh!t anyways)... Well, right at first light I see a big body come out of the bushes 300 yards below me and start rubbing a tree... AND he's a decent buck! F#%$!! I root through my pack in a panic trying to find something to McGyver my trigger lock... I find a ZIP strap that I can thread through behind the lock, (see the trigger in the inset pic) by the time I get it all together he's long gone. Two hours later of -15'C I grunt him out of the thick sh!it... the ZIPPER buck! (my first bush dwellin' vermin w/ rifle)...

Nice buck. You walked in to the spot in the dark, saw the deer, two hours later you got it. Picture is still in the dark. Did you have to leave the deer for awhile?

Don't let the Liberals see this post, they think trigger locks really work, just like the gun registry. Great buck!

So you are saying that the trigger lock can be defeated by a detemined person with a zip strap? Not sure I'll sleep well tonight!

Nice buck.

But I think you shouldn't be posting how to get around a trigger lock. You never know who reads these forums.

Nice buck.
Curious about the dark picture as well ?
He did nothing wrong by slipping a zap strap through the trigger lock, he can rightfully do that, it's his gun.

Not to get off topic but I have taken pics with great shooting light but sometimes where the animal drops is still a little dark due to trees blocking the sun at that angle. Or it's just a pic taken on the wrong setting on the camera. Done that too.

Congrats Dean on a great Vermin!!!
2-stroke must be proud of that one! Right up there with whistling in a 6 pt bull elk!!

Knowing Dean, he most likey had to pack that sucker out quite aways. Looks like that might be half a deer. My buddy and I shot our whities at 9:30am and we got back to the truck just before dark.

I'm sure what's-her-pickle Liberal will no want zap-straps now registered:roll: or have them banned for kids.

Thanks guys. It was desperation... I'll explain the photos, before an internet ethics police lynch mob forms... Didn't like the day photos, so I took some other photos two nights later, before I skinned him out.

The trigger extension is patent-pending...

Way to go Dean, glad you gave the house a rest and made it out for at least one whitey hunt, he's nicer than any whitey that I seen running around this year. Congrats on a fantastic deer.

Great job with jimmy rigging the trigger

You'd think that half the members here watch to much CSI  Nothing wrong with what he did with his own rifle.

Nice Deer and some fine eating. Congradulations on a fine buck.

Other ways to get past the trigger lock. two crescent wrenches, one on each side and twist. If tis not too tight put your knife blade into the lock against the sliver bar and it pops right off. Learned from experience.

Thats why all my trigger locks have no key. All combination locks.........now if only I could remember that combination:lol:
