Where does one hunt in the chilliwack valley. Everywhere I have been is so full of people on ATV's that you couldn't hunt there if you wanted to. Just curious. I have tried a couple of years ago and everybody just complained about a guy with a gun being in their party area.

chilliwack valley is a busy place. but if you get 100-200 yards off the road or trail you will be all alone

Along the road there are more hunters than deer in the chilliwack valley. My dad and I were parked on the main road in front of a small cut block with nothing else in the near by area so it should be obvious to a good hunter that there is probably someone hunting in there. We then hiked up the road a few hundred yards.I don't know if every hunting spot in the valley was taken that night or if this guy just wanted to try and ruin our night of hunting. We were setup for the night in a couple good view points looking for a good buck but nothing is showing for a couple hours. My dad then decides he will try a call and see if anything comes out. Well the only thing that came out was this other hunter on the lower road slowly sneaking up on my dad. He stops the calling at this point for the fear of getting shot and at this point we know our night is over. So if your going to hunt the roads in the valley be careful.

This seems to be the familiar saying for either the Chilliwack Valley or the Skagit, get off the main roads and hike. I will try the Chilliwack area next weekend as this weekend I am trying the Skagit Valley area again. I have also heard to many people hunting in the 'wack.

For all the time I have hunted in the Wack, I have seen tons of people on the roads going in or out... but never a single guy in the bush.

50,000 hunters in the lower mainland all of which would like an easy meal. Don't like people drive a couple more hours or get off the roads.

Its pretty tough terrain and most guys are too lazy to get out of the truck. They can have the check valley for all I care.

Me and a buddy went up there on the Monday of the long weekend. The place was a zoo! A guy in a pick passed us on Chipmunk rd he must have been doing over 100kms. We found one quite spot lots of tracks but no bucks. My buddy saw 3 does.

Who says you can't hunt with other people withing earshot? Be sure of your target, establish that you're not in a no-shooting zone, and go at it like you normally would. I've been plinking cans and had deer and bear come within fifty yards of me while I was firing. They're used to the noise and aren't easily spooked like they'd be far away from roads.
