Hey Guys,

Thought I'd share a few pics of a buck I shot on Saturday with a good friend. Got up to his place on 10:30 on Friday night and had this guy on the ground by 7:35 the next morning! I just moved to BC this year so had two friends who offered to host me this year. Was cool to go back to Alberta and have a few fun days of hunting with a good friend after I had my buck down.

My best deer so far. I had a hard time deciding if I was going to shoot him as it was so early in the hunt and I had planned on going north to the bush country for a few days as well. When I saw good tine length and width I figured I'd be stupid not to shoot him!!

80 yard shot, then two quick running shots at 110 yards and 145 yards to drop him. All three shots were where they needed to be and all were killing shots, but he managed to keep his feet so I kept filling him with bullets. Recovered 2 bullets and they are near picture perfect.

7mm SAUM, 160gr Accubond. Central AB WT. Greasy Movember Mustache!!

Great buck, :) hope there was not a lot of meat ruined!

One front shoulder was badly damaged, but thats about it. Although I figured the first shot was good at the time (was perfect), I subscribe to the theory that you can lose a heck of a lot less meat if you keep shooting than if the animal buggers off and ya never find him!! Heh

Yep, I'll be mounting him myself. Going to try a new wall pedestal form. I have a 150" buck that I had mounted that I tore apart a few months ago thinking I'd mount him again. Now he'll get put aside and this guy will be done.

Managed to pick up 2 shoulder mount projects while out in Alberta as well and a big elk skull to boil. Successful trip all around!!

And this is the first year in many you never made it back...With such a successful season of your own i guess you dont feel so bad missing out 1 year.

I had the chance to try some Raven Wear in 2009 and I want the Alberta coat and bibs suit for next year. I'm tired too to freeze in November sitting on a stand.
