Nice PG Whitetail

My Brother shot a beauty Whitetail on the weekend, not huge, rough scored 138 but still a very nice whitey, especially for Prince George. He saw it in a field (he had permission) at dusk saturday night at approx. 400 yards. He leaned on fence pole, lined up his Ruger 30-06 with 165gr Accubonds and squeezed off... A hit, deer humps up, circles...looks like its going to fall... then starts booking it for the bush!! he squeezes off 3 more as it runs off !!

Him and the GF wait, the track it, getting dark fast! they bumped him a couple times and it was too dark to see so the left him hoping he would bed down over night. Back at 8am, they walked in... he was right where they thought he was.. still alive, he got up, took a couple steps , layed back down and my Bro finished him!

first shot, low in the chest, clipped leg, brisket area, 2 other shots ,, on the run and between 450-500 yards, one hit front let, one back leg..

Anyways, the recovered him, small body to rack ratio?? my whitey from up nrth this year much bigger body and smaller rack, ill post pic of mine following his!!

low on leg, big drop on 450-500 yards on a 30-06, surprised he hit it on the run at that difference, he was only shooting because he knew it was already hit and was heading for the timber, zero meat damage.

hehe ya, sometimes i swear them bow hunters there make a good vital pass thru shot first thing in the morning and then wait till the next morning to go look for it..
