Are bears still out? Squamish

Heading out Squamish area mamquam maybe elaho for bears, guy from work really wants a bear I haven't been there for years it was good when I used to go just wondering if there still around at this time thanks.

i'm finding fresh tracks eevery time i go out up here, and that's in the snow.

Last year I was hunting the season ender for blacktails and I stumbled across some smoking fresh bear tracks in the snow. I was surprised to see them out that late.

Yeah I heard from someone they saw fresh tracks recently up there. Picked up a tag in case I bump into one while chasing deer.

last december 17 bear in the backyard in garibaldi, big fat healthy looking guy, 6" of fresh pow on the ground and sitting on his rump staring at the house, with a garbage bag between his legs...pics somewhere, kinda funny

if the weather is mild they'll be packing on the pounds as long as possible

Last week I was looking for one there too....go along the squamish river and look for tracks in the sand .... they are chasing the salmon....I came to one feeding spot (lots of fish half eaten and lots of tracks) but did not manage to see one.

how long is the sqaumish main fsr/ elaho driveable? is it plowed for logging throughout winter? i got a 4x4 just wondering, thanks!

It depends on snow/rain levels.....i dont think it gets plowed through the season.....sometimes it gets flooded ..its hit and miss kindaofathing

last wednesday I saw a big black bear down between the ashlu and squamish rivers. last thursday i bought a bear tag. i was speaking to the CO on Friday and he said he'd just seen a big bear in the same area.

They will be out until a prolonged snowfall hits. Maybe now weather is getting nasty so I would bet not many after next 10 days

Yup still out, saw a nice big black bear cross the Squamish main between Ashlu and Elaho Sunday morning on the way in. Gun was buried in the back, so didn't have time for a shot unfortunately. Lesson learned.
