So Molly and I had a our first time Duck Hunting today.
She's only 1-1/2 years old and was a real champ in the water.
It was cold and snowy, but no matter - it was the stuff that memories are made of.:)

Molly is a beautiful lab. Good luck with many years of hunting with her.

Feels awesome. It was her first time (and mine) hunting ducks. I have hunted upland a few times, but not with Molly. Next year for sure.
There was a typo in my previous post - she's about 1-1/2 yrs old.

We have done some training with dead birds (ducks & pheasant) and a few pigeons previously, but this was her first time really hunting and it didn't take her long to catch on that a shot meant there might be a duck in the water. After showing her where the first dropped duck was floating, she got real enthused and would bolt for the water after a shot. I need to focus on getting her to steady and remain with me until I send her by name or give her the fetch command. Sure makes a guy want to get out more often and boy fresh duck is sure tastey!

The wife has seen how stocked we both were and now she and my daughter have signed-up for CORE and PAL classes in Dec. We may have created a monster.

That is awesome. The more people hunting the better and should be a family affair. You have a lot to look forward too ! Congrats again .
